Shares in international oil and gas exploration and production company Petroneft Resources plc began trading on the Irish Stock Exchange’s IEX market today.
Petroneft is the 14th new company to list on IEX since the market was established by the Irish Stock Exchange in April 2005 and brings to 22 the number of companies listed on this specialist market for small and medium-sized companies.
“The decision by Petroneft, an Irish company with international operations, to list its shares on the IEX market as part of its Initial Public Offering is another vote of confidence in this specialist market,” said Irish Stock Exchange's director of listing Deirdre Somers today.
“IEX provides access to capital for small and medium-sized companies in Ireland, as evidenced by Petroneft’s fundraising in Ireland.”
Ms Somers added that she is confident of further listings on the IEX market in the coming months.
Petroneft was established for the purpose of acquiring and developing hydrocarbon acreage in Siberian Russia.
