A post mortem is expected to be carried out today on the body of Stephen Quigley who was found dead in Dundalk early yesterday.

A post mortem is expected to be carried out today on the body of Stephen Quigley who was found dead in Dundalk early yesterday.

The 24-year-old was discovered in a laneway between two houses off Avenue road on the southside of the town at midnight.

His body was taken to the local morgue yesterday afternoon.

Garda Superintendent Jim Sheridan said the victim left his nearby home in a car prior to his death

Gardaí is appealing for possible witnesses to come forward.
