Hear'Say are set to bounce back into the UK top five at the weekend, despite predictions that their latest release could see them sent into oblivion.
Early indications show the track Lovin' Is Easy is selling nowhere near as bad as music industry mutterings which suggested they might not make the top 20.
But sales since the track hit the shops yesterday suggest it is likely to chart at around number five.
That would still be the lowest chart placing the band have achieved of their four releases up until now. Their previous single Everybody peaked at four, while the other two were chart-toppers.
Girl trio Sugababes look likely to score their second number one at the weekend, displacing Darius Danesh after two weeks.
