Government appoints TDs to chair committees
The Government has appointed 13 Fianna Fail TDs to chair Oireachtas committees.
Former Education Minister Michael Woods was appointed chair of the foreign affairs committee and former Junior Minister Eoin Ryan was appointed to the transport committee.
Tony Killeen, who once lost the Fianna Fail whip because of his stance on the Shannon stopover, takes charge of the education and science committee.
Elsewhere, Fianna Fail's Billy Kelleher was appointed deputy government whip.
