Pair slash wrists at Cork Airport

Two Eastern European men slashed their wrists when immigration officers checked their passports at Cork airport this afternoon, gardaí said.

Two Eastern European men slashed their wrists when immigration officers checked their passports at Cork airport this afternoon, gardaí said.

The men, both in their early 30s, arrived on a flight from Paris at about 4.30pm.

When officials checked their papers both men slashed their wrists and were taken to Cork’s South Infirmary Hospital.

They were later released from hospital into Garda custody and were expected to be deported in the next few days.
