Poor Brian Ormond had bit of an awkward moment at the start of the live Lotto broadcast last night.
The RTÉ presenter had just welcomed people to the Wednesday edition of the draw when he seemed to stop inexplicably in mid-sentence.
After what seemed like an eternity of uncomfortable silence the broadcast was then pulled from the air.
Ormond took to Twitter last night to explain he had been told by producers to stop.
No I didn't see a ghost on lotto tonight! When your told to stop ya gotta stop! 😝 can't beat live tv!

The National Lottery have confirmed how last night’s events came to pass.
Answering queries from bemused viewers on their Facebook page they explained how the situation came to pass.
“The Lotto draws usually begin with the Lotto Plus 2 draw. Last night the main Lotto draw drum was started inadvertently. The draw manager then asked RTÉ to halt the broadcast.
“In accordance with our procedures and following a review with independent observers KPMG, the draw was declared valid.
“In the next available broadcast slot, we broadcast the live Lotto Plus draws and read the results of the main Lotto draw,” said The National Lottery.
Twitter of course showed no mercy after the strange incident.

Poor Brian Ormond was left hanging - so unfair. The machines broke and he didn't know. Not his fault - a technical issue.
