The Tánaiste held private meetings with staff members at Dell today in an effort to reassure workers that the Government is aware of the situation in the mid-west.
Mary Coughlan said she had outlined to the workers what the government has been doing to help them, following the computer giant's axing of 1,900 jobs in Limerick.
It was the minister’s first visit to the region since the job-cuts were announced.
She also met with development agencies and the mayors of the region to discuss efforts to improve future economic prospects for the mid-west.
