A parked car bomb has exploded in a meat market in a predominantly Shiite town south of Baghdad, killing 15 people and wounding dozens this morning, Iraqi police said.

A parked car bomb has exploded in a meat market in a predominantly Shiite town south of Baghdad, killing 15 people and wounding dozens this morning, Iraqi police said.

The explosion occurred at 10.30am in Aziziyah, 56 miles south of Baghdad.

Police said 15 people were killed and 50 were wounded.
