Inspector Morse fans have been invited to attend a memorial service to remember the late John Thaw.
The ceremony at Trafalgar Square in London has been arranged by his widow Sheila Hancock.
She has chosen several fans who wrote to express their sympathy, to join her at the ceremony in September.
Among celebrities expected to attend the service are actors Kevin Whately and Dennis Waterman.
Thaw died aged 60 of cancer of the oesophagus in February.
Sheila and their daughters Joanne, Melanie and Abigail are also taking part in an ITV1 documentary about the actor.
Sheila told TV Times: "His death has touched something deep in people, making them feel as though they have lost one of their own, a man whom they knew.
"We have randomly selected a number of people to come from those who wrote. It restores faith in humanity that people can be so kind."
