Irish IT company e-blana enterprise group has won a tender to deliver Eurovet, the company’s animal registration and tracking system, to the former Yugoslav republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The system will be a key component of the country’s Animal Identification and Movement Control Scheme, which aims to establish a stable livestock industry.
Eurovet is a web-based livestock traceability system, which combines animal identification, herd registration and movement control with animal health surveillance and public health monitoring.
It originated in a European Commission funded project to develop a pan-European livestock traceability system. It was subsequently commercialised and is owned by e-blana.
The first implementation was for the Bulgarian State Veterinary Service in 2001. Founded in 1988, e-blana currently employs a staff of 65 with offices in Dublin, Brussels and Armagh.
