Divers from the Garda Sub Aqua Unit are searching off the West Cork coast for the body of a man whose foot was washed up earlier this week.

Gardai believe they have traced the limb to a man missing from the greater Cork area.

The humans foot along with a mans left shoe and sock was discovered on the shoreline near Cobh last Monday by a local man out walking.

Gardai believe they have traced the limb to a man missing from Cork for a number of weeks, however they are still waiting for DNA tests to confirm this.

Gardai are carrying out a trawl off the shore where the foot was found.
