Frankie the man to beat

Frankie Dettori has been installed as the 9-4 favourite with bet365 to finish next week's Ebor meeting at York as the leading rider.

Dettori justified favouritism for the award at the Glorious Goodwood festival, where he was seen to good effect riding five winners.

However, the Italian will face stern opposition from champion jockey-elect Ryan Moore, who is priced-up at 9-2, while current champion Jamie Spencer is next in the market at 5-1.

“Since the enforced absence of Kieren Fallon from British racing, Frankie Dettori has been a very warm order for these top jockey markets at the various festivals and we expect the York Ebor meeting to be no different,” said bet365 spokesman George Primarolo.

“Last year’s winner Michael Kinane looks as if he will be riding the majority of the Ballydoyle horses in Britain, so he could well be popular at 7-1.”
