Four killed in Baghdad blasts

Officials said four people have been killed and several wounded in a series of explosions today near Baghdad’s heavily protected Green Zone.

Three car bombs were detonated within minutes of each other.

US military spokesman Brian Wierzbicki reported three or four explosions outside the Green Zone, but did not have any immediate reports of casualties.

However, reporters near the scene reported seeing a thick plume of smoke.
