The Government’s referendum on citizenship rights has been passed by an overwhelming majority of four votes to one, 79.15% in favour, 20.85% against.
With a turnout of just under 60%, all constituencies voted in favour of the amendment, many with a majority of over 80%.
The Immigrant Council has now called for a forum on immigration to be set up to tackle any issues arising from the referendum and its result. C
ommenting on the result, a spokesperson for the Alliance for Children's Rights said the Government must now honour commitments made during the "Yes" campaign.
