No group angered at Taoiseach comments

The Yes and No camps in the Nice Treaty campaign will make a final push to gain votes later today.

The Yes and No camps in the Nice Treaty campaign will make a final push to gain votes later today.

With more than a quarter of the electorate undecided, the battle is on to win the hearts and minds of the voting public.

Meanwhile, the No to Nice Group is to seek a High Court injunction this morning to prevent the Taoiseach from repeating allegations that the campaign is funded by right-wing fundamentalists in the United States.

At the weekend, Bertie Ahern said that £100,000 was being pumped into what he branded the "black and red poster campaign".

He added that the bulk of the money for this "sinister campaign of misinformation" came from a right wing fundamentalist organisation in the US.

No to Nice say they raise funds exclusively from Irish donors, and would be seeking costs from the Taoiseach for "malicious falsehood".

The group's "You Will Lose!" posters have proved popular with GAA fans though - a large number of them have been pinched en route to top games by supporters, who have subsequently waved them at rival fans.
