Sinn Féin's electoral setbacks in the Republic are set to be among the main items on the agenda at an internal party meeting in Co Meath today.
The party's ard comhairle is gathering in Navan to assess its electoral strategy south of the border following a disappointing showing in the local and European elections.
Sinn Féin's fortunes suffered a further blow in the wake of those elections, with the resignation of a number of councillors, including long-serving Dublin councillor Christy Burke.
Unsuccessful European candidate Toireasa Ferris has also implicitly criticised the party in recent weeks, saying it means nothing to voters in the Republic.
Meanwhile, Sinn Féin will also use today's meeting to decide its position on the second Lisbon Treaty referendum, with the party almost certain to campaign for a 'no' vote.
