Striker Graham Barrett is the surprise inclusion in Don Givens' Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly international with Greece in Athens on November 20.

Striker Graham Barrett is the surprise inclusion in Don Givens' Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly international with Greece in Athens on November 20.

The young Arsenal poacher - on loan at Brighton - is the biggest surprise in Don Givens squad announced today.

Sunderland duo Phil Babb and Thomas Butler have been excluded from the squad, as have Wimbledon's in-form striker David Connolly and Birmingham City's Jeff Kenna.

For this game, Givens will be assisted by his Under-21 assistant manager Billy Young.

The rest of the backroom staff - Martin Walsh, Ciaran Murray, Mick Byrne, Pat Bonner, Joe Walsh, Eddie Corcoran, Tony Hickey and John Fallon - all served under Mick McCarthy.
