Man arrested in connection with Midleton hit-and-run
A man has been arrested in connection with this morning's fatal hit-and-run near Midleton in Co Cork.
The man, who is in his 50s, is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
An 83-year-old woman lost her fight for life this afternoon after being hit by a car on the N25 in Castlemartyr just after 7am.
The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
