Karlsson slips from lead
Order of Merit number one Robert Karlsson made a great up and down at the last hole this morning, but still lost a share of the lead going into the final round of the Portugal Masters at Vilamoura.
Chasing his third successive victory the 39-year-old Swede was among 12 players unable to finish yesterday because of thunderstorm.
He and joint overnight leaders Ross Fisher and Alvaro Quiros all set off again at 7.50am and Karlsson, having first of all two-putted the long 17th for par like Fisher, found heavy rough by the 18th green.
But he chipped to three feet and, with Fisher missing a 12-foot birdie chance, they both posted 14 under par total of 202. Karlsson was round in 66, Fisher in 65.
However, big-hitting Spaniard Quiros birdied the 15th to get his nose in front, bogeyed the 208-yard next, then birdied the 17th to lead again. A closing par four gave him a 67 and 15-under aggregate.
Former Open champion Paul Lawrie, who led after an amazing two-eagle and three-birdie burst in five holes on the front nine before following it with a triple bogey seven, also bogeyed the 16th, but birdied the last to complete a 70. He was 11 under and joint seventh.
Third round leader Stuart Manley had also taken seven on the par four seventh and he carded a 73 to drop back to 10 under and tied ninth.
