Jailed sex offender recruits black magic slaves on internet

An Australian convicted sex offender and self-proclaimed warlock has been using the internet to recruit black magic slaves from his prison.

An Australian convicted sex offender and self-proclaimed warlock has been using the internet to recruit black magic slaves from his prison.

Guards state Robin Angus Fletcher, who is serving a 10-year sentence in a Victoria state prison, is daring people to dedicate themselves to his cult on a website set up in the US.

Fletcher was jailed in 1998 for drugging and sexually assaulting two teenage girls, then pushing them into prostitution.

On the website, Fletcher proclaims his innocence and offers lessons to people in "any aspects of mystical or occult lore". The site has been visited more than a million times in the year after it was set up.

The site states: "I am an occult and bondage and discipline master and can grant the heart's desire. I seek disciples, slaves, friends who are truly dedicated and interested ... in dedicating themselves to me and to the dark path."

The site does not mention Fletcher's convictions, and asks believers to send Aus $37 to him in prison.

Discovery of the site has provoked outrage from advocates for victims of crime, who say it is "truly frightening" that Fletcher has been able to gain access to the internet while in jail.

Victoria's Correctional Services Commissioner Penny Armytage say Fletcher is not allowed access to the internet while in prison and probably had a friend set up the website.
