Inmate found dead in cell at Mountjoy Prison

An inmate has been found dead in his cell at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin this morning.

An inmate has been found dead in his cell at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin this morning.

The man's body was discovered by prison officers when his cell was unlocked just before 9am.

Gardaí say the prisoner was in a single cell and the circumstances surrounding his death are not suspicious.

A post mortem will be carried out on the body later today.
