A post mortem is due to be carried out today on the body of a baby boy who was found wrapped in a blanket by workmen at the Killsallaghan dump near Swords.

A post mortem is due to be carried out today on the body of a baby boy who was found wrapped in a blanket by workmen at the Killsallaghan dump near Swords.

The workers were moving rubble to the dump from an industrial estate in Coolock at the time of the discovery.

The site in Coolock and the dump in Swords have both been sealed off for forensic examination and detectives have appealed for the baby's mother to come forward.

A post mortem will be carried out on the body later today.
