Sinitta toying with auditioning for 'X Factor'

The 'So Macho' hitmaker – who recently publicly admitted she terminated her and show boss Simon Cowell's baby in the 1980s - has appeared as a guest mentor at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition on almost every series of the show, but has never been asked to hold one of the four judging positions.

However, she admits she would rather showcase her singing skills and give her pop career another go than join the judging panel.

She told Digital Spy: "I've been joking about [being a judge] for 10 years. Probably in the first few years I believed it could actually happen, but now I don't.

"I'd rather be a contestant on 'X Factor'... I haven't had a record out since the '90s so it'll be like a proper comeback."

The 50-year-old singer suggested Simon should include a Comebacks category in the show next year to give former pop acts a second chance.

Sinitta said: "I reckon there should be another category - that's what we should do. We should have five categories - Boys, Girls, Groups, Over-25s and the Comebacks. We need to copyright this. I think I should [pitch it to Simon]."

The brunette star - who memorably emerged wearing nothing but palm leaves at Judges' Houses one year - is adamant she would never audition for rival show 'The Voice' because she is more of a "visual act".

Speaking at the London Lifestyle Awards – where party-goers enjoyed a superb selection of Remy Martin cocktails, including Remy Martin and ginger ale - she said: "I think I'm more of a visual act. I would rather that they were watching with headphones on and couldn't hear me."
