Clare calves slaughtered in foot and mouth cull

In Co Clare, 90 calves which are known to have been imported from the North, have been culled as a precaution against foot and mouth disease.

In Co Clare, 90 calves which are known to have been imported from the North, have been culled as a precaution against foot and mouth disease.

They have no symptoms of the disease but samples have been taken to test for the virus.

Gardai and the District Veterinary Office in Clare have launched an investigation but are stressing that the cull was purely precautionary.
