Man badly injured in West Belfast stabbing

A 30-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds after being attacked in west Belfast.

A 30-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds after being attacked in west Belfast.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his face and neck. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The victim was stabbed in the Whiterock Drive area of Belfast shortly after 5am today.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI appealed for witnesses who may have seen a man fleeing in the direction of Whiterock Crescent after the assault.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Antrim Road police station.
