Junior minister Kathleen Lynch has been transferred to a hospital in Cork after collapsing earlier today.

Junior health minister admitted to CUH after collapsing on official visit

Junior minister Kathleen Lynch has been transferred to a hospital in Cork after collapsing earlier today.

The minister was visiting the mental health wing of Letterkenny General Hospital when she collapsed.

She was admitted to intensive care and has now been transferred to Cork University Hospital by air ambulance for further tests and treatment.

It is thought that the minister suffering from a recurrence of septicaemia, for which she had received treatment last year.

Her condition is being described as comfortable.
