Sinn Fein’s Conor Murphy has accused British intelligence of hyping up the arrests of three suspected Provisional IRA members in Colombia at the weekend.

Sinn Fein’s Conor Murphy has accused British intelligence of hyping up the arrests of three suspected Provisional IRA members in Colombia at the weekend.

Mr Murphy said the British Government is blowing the incident out of proportion to stall moves towards demilitarisation in the North.

Mr Murphy said: “On Monday, they talked about these people out dealing with drugs and that proved to be bunkum.

"On Tuesday, they talked about some video evidence and we have yet to see any of that. There was an attempt to sell one of these people as a Sinn Fein representative in Cuba, which has proved to be rubbish.”
