Former Northern Ireland midfielder Keith Gillespie is leaving Glentoran after failing to agree terms.

Former Northern Ireland midfielder Keith Gillespie is leaving Glentoran after failing to agree terms.

Gillespie, 35, moved to the Belfast club last year after playing for Manchester United, Newcastle, Blackburn and Sheffield United.

A statement on Glentoran’s website said: “Following ongoing discussions with Keith Gillespie the club have been unable to agree terms and as a result the player in now a free agent.

“The club wish to place on record their thanks to Keith for his professionalism and the example he set to younger players and wish him every success in whatever he chooses to do going forward.”
