Newlywed singer Christina Aguilera has thrilled fans by promising her first album in four years will be in stores this August.

The Genie In A Bottle hitmaker, who married Jordan Bratman in November, has returned to the studio and is working on a retro-jazz disc to be named Back To Basics.

The first single from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s jazz and blues homage will be available as early as next month.

Aguilera's 2002 album Stripped sold over 3.9 million copies in the US alone.
