Georges Eo has been sacked as coach of Ligue 1 strugglers Nantes.

Eo, who has only been in charge of the first team for five months, has been replaced at the helm by his assistant, Michel der Zakarian.

Les Canaris president Rudi Roussillon has acted decisively after seeing the club slip to second from bottom in the league standings.

The 5-2 defeat at home to Valenciennes last weekend proved to be the last straw for Roussillon.

“We are 19th and it is very, very worrying,” said Roussillon at a press conference.

“We have decided to go ahead with certain changes and I have asked Georges Eo to step down.”
