Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has agreed to train with the France squad ahead of tomorrow’s friendly with Colombia as an injury back-up.
No player has withdrawn from France’s Euro 2008 squad, but Patrick Vieira has missed the last two friendly games after reportedly sustaining a thigh injury in training.
A statement on the French Football Federation’s website, www.fff.fr confirmed: “Mathieu Flamini, who was part of the provisional list of 30 players for the final phase of the Euro 2008, was recalled this morning by coach Raymond Domenech.”
Domenech has until June 8 to call up an official replacement for any injured player.
France open their Euro 2008 campaign next Monday against Romania.
