Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry after a 24-year-old man was shot dead in a pub in the Blanchardstown area last night.

Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry after a 24-year-old man was shot dead in a pub in the Blanchardstown area last night.

The victim was hit at least twice when two masked men armed with a shotgun entered the Brookwood Inn in the Corduff shopping centre and opened fire.

A second man was slightly injured in the attack, which took place at around 10.30pm.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
