Director: Jody Hill
Cast: Danny R. McBride, Ben Best, Mary Jane Bostic
There’s nothing much to like about this low-budget comedy unless you like mindless and plotless action and some pretty dire acting. It’s a shallow, one-joke film.
McBride, who has yet to show us he’s here to stay, plays martial arts instructor Fred Simmons whose life is steered towards the rocks when his wife (Bostic) leaves him. And leaves him to take out his rage on everyone he meets.
It took a mere 19 days to shoot the film and it shows, in the lack of thoughtful and witty writing and directing that lacks attention to detail.
One decidedly for the chop.
