A man is due in court in Belfast today accused of attempted murder after shots were fired at a police car on Christmas Day.

A man is due in court in Belfast today accused of attempted murder after shots were fired at a police car on Christmas Day.

No officers were injured in the incident which took place on the city's northside.

The 46-year-old is also accused of a firearms offence, making threats to kill and criminal damage.

The incident happened in Heath Lodge Close in the city.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court today.
