Premiership: Smith linked with move to Old Trafford
Walter Smith, who was sacked as Everton manager earlier this week, could be in line for a speedy return to the Premiership.
Reports this morning suggest Smith could be hired as Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford.
The pair are close friends off the football pitch and Ferguson has yet to officially replace Steve McLaren, who left Manchester United for Middlesbrough at the end of last season.
