At The Races are hoping the British Horseracing Board give the go-ahead to universal 48-hour final declarations on the Flat next Monday to help continue the racing channel’s progress.
In their operational review for 2005, chief executive Matthew Imi reported the horseracing broadcaster and media rights company to be “in a strong financial and operational position“.
One of the keys to future success is the international sector.
“Maximising distribution and revenue opportunities worldwide through At The Races International remains a real priority for the company,” the report states.
“Integral to the success of this is the issue of 48-hour declarations and, following the BHB’s recent announcement, ATR looks forward to playing its part in providing a more detailed evaluation of incremental revenue opportunities for Flat racing should a decision be taken at the BHB’s March 6 board meeting to sign off on 48-hour declarations going forward.”
There will be increased investment in the channel this year with particular emphasis in programming, marketing and international distribution.
ATR’s performance last year led to more than £2.5m (€3.6m) being generated for their racecourse partners with more than £3.5m (€5.1m) being distributed since the channel was launched in June, 2004.
