Eircom League: Rover's lead reduced

Cork reduced Rovers lead at the top of the table to three points with this

Shamrock Rovers 1 Cork City 3

Cork reduced Rovers lead at the top of the table to three points with this

deserved win at Richmond Park.

City finally brought a dreadfully poor game to life with the lead goal

three minutes before the break.

Ollie Cahill skinned Greg Costello for pace down the left to cross for

James Mulligan who tucked the ball home from close range.

Tony Grant equalised for Rovers three minutes after the break when

punishing a mistake by Damien O'Rourke.

But City hit back through full-back Neil Horgan to regain the lead on 73

minutes.

Cahill then added City's third goal on 90 minutes when shooting home

following Conor O'Grady's quick free kick.
