Drug Squad officers in the North tonight seized cannabis worth £2.75m (€3.9m).

One man was arrested when police made what was believed to be the largest ever single drugs find in the North.

Police said the drugs were discovered during a search of business premises in the Annahilt area of Hillsborough, Co Down.

The drugs had been hidden in tins packed into boxes.

A police spokeswoman said: “Drug squad officers are satisfied that they have seriously disrupted a highly-organised criminal gang.”
