Woman dies in Louth housefire

An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Co Louth.

An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Co Louth.

Members of the fire service are still at the scene in the St Mary's Road in Dundalk.

The blaze was discovered just before 9am today.

A post mortem will be carried out on the woman's body but gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.

The scene has been preserved and a full technical examination will be carried out.
