Two men have died in separate road accidents in Co Westmeath and Co Longford.

Two men have died in separate road accidents in Co Westmeath and Co Longford.

A man in his 50s died in a three-car collision on the Dublin to Galway road just outside Moate at around 7.30pm last night.

A woman was also injured in the crash, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist in his 20s died in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, after colliding head-on with a car in the Coolarty area at around 9pm.

The victim was believed to be a local man.
