Urine wardens have been proposed for Ennis in Co Clare to tackle the problem of public urination in the town at weekends.

Urine wardens have been proposed for Ennis in Co Clare to tackle the problem of public urination in the town at weekends.

The proposal comes after one Ennis businessman took matters into his own hands and installed an 'electric fence' around his shopfront to deter revellers.

Labour Councillor Paul O' Shea says the wardens would patrol the towns streets on the weekends to stop such behaviour.
