The Irish Locomotive Drivers Association, which represents a small number of Iarnrod Eireann train drivers, has threatened to go on strike if CIE presses ahead with its plan to delay pay rises due under the Sustaining Progress agreement.
CIE workers are entitled to the 3% increase this October, but the company wants to delay it until November to recoup the estimated €1m it lost during last week's "no fares" protest.
