Troubled jockey Dean Gallagher will learn his fate at a Jockey Club inquiry in London tomorrow.
Gallagher, 33, was summoned to Portman Square after testing positive to cocaine following a random dope test at Newton Abbot in September and is facing a significant riding ban which could signal the end of his career as a jump jockey.
His sample was found to contain benzoylecgonine, a diagnostic metabolite of cocaine, which is a banned substance.
The inquiry is due to start at 12.30pm.
This is not the first time Gallagher has tested positive for the drug.
In July 2000 France-Galop handed him a six-month worldwide ban after he tested positive for cocaine on three separate occasions.
However, he completed his rehabilitation and his licence was renewed on January 1 2001.
The following day he made a winning return to action on West End Dancer at Folkestone.
Then at this year’s Cheltenham Festival he achieved the most important win of his career on Hors La Loi III in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle.
