The ISEQ index of Irish shares was valued at 2,742.77 at 11.25am this morning, representing a rise of 27.91 points.
Among the financials, AIB was up 14c to 1.42 and Bank of Ireland rose 5c to 1.50 but Irish Life & Permanent slipped 1c to 3.01.
On the risers' board, CRH was up 23c to 18.06; Smurfit Kappa rose 22c to 3.22; Kingspan cheered 10c to 4.70; C&C was up 7c to 2.18; Greencore rose 4c to 1.16; Glanbia gained 3c to 2.15 and Ryanair also cheered 3c, to 3.40.
Index majors on a downward trend included Tullow Oil, falling 19c to 11.01; Kerry Group, off 9c at 16.91, and Elan Corp, slipping 5c to 5.17.
