The GAA's Games Administration Committee has confirmed tonight that the All-Ireland SFC semi-final between Cork and Kerry will take place at Croke Park on August 28.
There had been mounting speculation in the aftermath of yesterday's quarter-final wins for the Munster pair that their last-four clash - a repeat of last month's Munster final, which Kerry won by a single goal - would be played down south, and most probably at the 'neutral' 49,000-capacity Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.
Poor Croke Park attendances at Saturday's qualifiers (36,066) and yesterday's lively quarter-finals (34,031), which saw Connacht's finest Galway and Mayo bow out of the race for Sam Maguire, may have pushed the GAC to stage the all-Munster semi in Munster
However, Croke Park will be the venue. The GAC also confirmed that the last of this month's quarter-finals between Ulster champions Armagh and Leinster runners-up Laois will take place at headquarters also, on August 20.
