Gardaí deaths: Teen remanded for week

A 15-year-old passenger in a stolen car which killed two gardaí last weekend has been remanded in custody for a week.

A 15-year-old passenger in a stolen car which killed two gardaí last weekend has been remanded in custody for a week.

He appeared at the Children's Court in Dun Laoghaire. He faces charges of allowing himself to be carried in a stolen car and of burglary.

He has been remanded in custody to Trinity House youth detention centre for one week.

The 16-year-old driver of the stolen car is still in hospital.

Garda Michael Padden, 27, who died in last Sunday's collision was laid to rest earlier today in his native Belmullet, Co Mayo.
