Although 'Ziggy Stardust' has released two albums in the last three years (one only a matter of days ago), a heart attack he suffered back in 2004 restricted him from performing live for almost a decade.

The poignant performance took place at a charity event in New York’s Hammersmith Ballroom in 2006.

The icon joined Alicia Keys onstage to sing his hit single, Changes.

The performance also saw the singer perform Wild is the Wind and Fantastic Voyage.

The duet was never intended to be his last performance - however his booking agent confirmed in October 2015 that the singer had retired from stage.

Bowie died on Sunday surrounded by his family, only days since his he released his new album Blackstar for his 69th birthday - January 8.
