Lorry driver held after men found in road

A Slovakian lorry driver has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two men found lying on a main road in the UK.

A Slovakian lorry driver has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two men found lying on a main road in the UK.

The men were believed to be asylum seekers who were transported to Britain and fell from the back of a vehicle.

One was declared dead at the scene and the other was seriously injured. They were found on the London-bound A20 at Sellindge, Kent, at 7.45am on Sunday.

Kent Police arrested a 25-year-old Slovakian following spot checks on vehicles on the M20 near Maidstone last night.

He is currently being questioned by police.
