A bus has plunged from a mountain highway into a 200-metre ravine, killing at least 25 people.

A bus has plunged from a mountain highway into a 200-metre ravine, killing at least 25 people.

Twenty other people were injured in the accident in Peru's central Andes.

The number of dead and injured has not been confirmed.

Radio reports said the bus was heading from Cerro de Pasco and that it was just four miles from its destination when it crashed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
