Justin Rose launched a major charge in the early stages of the third round of the South African Airways Open.
Rose began the day seven shots behind overnight leader and defending champion Tim Clark of South Africa at Erinvale Golf Club.
But the 22-year-old slashed that gap to four shots within just three holes, before Clark had teed off his third round.
Rose holed from 10 feet for a birdie on the par-three second, and then from twice the distance on the par five next for an eagle.
It could have been even better had a birdie attempt from eight feet on the treacherous first hole narrowly miss.
Clark still held a three-shot lead at the head of the field over Ireland's Peter Lawrie and Andrew Coltart.
